Running of HI process on separate desktop is possible by application "runonipedsk.exe", located in directory "bin" of D2000 System.

Application "runonipedsk.exe" reads name and parameters of the process from the command line and starts this process on separate desktop. Then it waits until the process terminates and switches the view back to main desktop.

Example of running HI.EXE on separate desktop:

runonipedsk.exe hi.exe /Sserver_name /param1 /param2

If HI process runs on separate windows desktop, neither Start button nor status bar are visible. HI window cannot be minimized, size modified or closed.
External applications that have been started from this HI share HI separate desktop with possibility of switching between them by Alt+Tab.

If user with administrator rights is logged in HI.EXE, he is allowed to close the process and the item "Switch to main desktop" appears in menu. After clicking on this item, displayed desktop switches to the main desktop and HI process keeps running on separate desktop. To switch from main desktop to separate desktop, use runonipedsk.exe with parameter "/s".

If runonipedsk.exe runs without parameters, it switches screen to the separate desktop and runs a utility desktopswitch.exe. This utility returns back to main desktop after clicking on button.
