Supported device types and versions
The GELF (Graylog Extended Log Format) protocol is intended for data and event logging and has several advantages over the standard Syslog format:
- limiting one message to 65536 bytes (Syslog has a limit of 1024 bytes)
- structured data using JSON format (Syslog does not have defined data types)
- optional compression (GZIP, ZLIB)
Communication is implemented as a Java library that implements functions available from ESL scripts. Sending GELF messages does not use the D2000 KOM process, but is implemented through ESL scripts.
For further information about the GELF protocol, contact the sales department of Ipesoft.
