Software key can be used in the situations when you can not use a standard USB hardware key SentinelSuperPro on a console with D2000 Server for various reasons (e.g. virtualization, type of used hardware, etc.).

This key is based on the hardware copy that contains the unique serial numbers of hardware components and operating system. When starting D2000 System, the license level is verified as per these information.
Warning: When changing some of the hardware components (mother board, network card,...) or the operating system or the activating the MS Windows, the software key becomes invalid.

The procedure for generating license by using the software key:

1. Start utility hwinfo.exe on the target workstation (on which kernel.exe will run).
2. Utility hwinfo.exe will generate the file info_<workstation_name>_<yyyy-mm-dd>.hwi. Send this file by an e-mail on your contact person in Ipesoft.
3. You will receive the license file "LicenceRun.code" by return. Save it into D2000 InstallDir directory.
4. Software key will be activated by creating the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipesoft\D2000V70\HWInfoBasedKey of DWORD type and by setting the value 1.

The software key can be generated for Runtime licenses and development (OEM) licenses.

Note: When starting program with parameter -o hwinfo.exe, the system writes information about the hardware copy on default output.
