The D2000 License Authorization Server is used to authorize the licensed operation of IPESOFT products.

The D2000 application server can utilize public IPESOFT license servers, or - if there is no Internet connection available - license servers in the customer's internal infrastructure. If necessary, to increase reliability, it is possible to use redundant internal LS and also a combination of internal LS + public LS.

The D2000 application server requests license authorization from the authorization server regularly, approximately every hour. The validity period of a (successful) authorization is 4+4 days. If the authorization server is unavailable, the application runs in fully authorized mode for the first 4 days. After 4 days, the application switches to unauthorized, but still fully functional mode. During unauthorized mode, it displays a notification to logged-in users about operation in unauthorized mode (see the chapter Breach of license agreement). Any restarts of the D2000 application server do not affect the duration of authorization; the last successful authorization is stored on the application server. If the authorization is not renewed by the end of its 4+4 days validity period, the D2000 application server will be terminated. Without authorization, the D2000 can only be operated in DEMO mode.

To configure licensing options, use the D2000 Application Manager, specifically the D2000 Instance Settings dialog.

1) Public license server

IPESOFT operates two redundant license servers on the public Internet https://lic-v2-a.ipesoft.com and https://lic-v2-b.ipesoft.com. The D2000 application periodically, approximately. 1x per hour, contacts the public server, and authorizes the license.

2) License server in customer infrastructure

2.A) Integrated

The integrated license server consists of a USB token that is connected to the computer running the D2000 server. The D2000 server automatically authorizes the license using the USB token. This solution is used in case of an unavailable internet connection to the IPESOFT authorization server.

2.B) Dedicated

A dedicated license server consists of software equipment - D2000 License Authorization Server (LAS), which is installed as an OS service (Windows or Linux) and a physical USB token. The server communicates via TCP/IP and allows you to authorize D2000 licenses to multiple application servers. This solution is used in case of an unavailable internet connection, if it is necessary to authorize a redundant D2000 application, or multiple D2000 applications within a shared network infrastructure.
