- do not replace the old versions of the files but back them up (or back up the entire program directory) - the backup can be useful if you need to restore the original D2000 version
- if patching is done with the D2000 application running, the used files (eg e.g. kernel.exe) cannot be replaced with new ones. However, it is possible to move them elsewhere (e.g. to the old subdirectory), or rename them (e.g. to kernel.exe.old) and then copy the new files
- after patching, we recommend restarting the patched processes or the entire application
