Data category objects are used for Table configuration to tag columns with business data categorycategories. Typical A typical example might be the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where personal data are defined. Such data might be represented by various data types in a database table, but from the business point of view it is "personal data". In this case, it is possible to create a D2000 object of Data category type, which will represent personal data (for example object named Personal_Data) and assing assign it on to table columns containing personal data. This linkage between objects is useful for the fast identification of tables which that contain data of a particular category (thanks to referential integrity in D2000).
