SGCom is an application extension of the D2000 platform that mediates communication with smart metering devices (mainly electricity meters) using DLMS/COSEM and IEC 62056-21 protocols. It is a modernized alternative to the traditional implementation in D2000 KOM, the use of which would be more demanding on human and computing resources when the number of meters increases.
This documentation contains a technical description of the SGCom application for the system programmer, instructions for its use for the application programmer, and also a collection of experience with the use and configuration of several types of electricity meters to explain and solve various operational difficulties in practice. It also summarizes selected properties of the used communication protocols, which have a fundamental impact on the functioning of SGCom.
